Our story linked to MULINVéLO seems one written in destiny. Many of our customers indeed love to remember the almost magical aspect of how we came into contact with this place.

The story begins about twenty years ago. Antonella, whom I jokingly like to call my “girlfriend,” was desperately looking for kamut flour for some recipes. At that time, it wasn’t as widespread as it is today, and she was advised to go to the old mill in Pastrengo.

Production-wise, the mill was already inactive; only a small space for selling flour, managed by the owner’s daughters, remained open. It’s amusing to think that today, in that same space, there’s the workshop of MULINVéLO.

Back then, you couldn’t directly enter the mill, and unfortunately, you could only see a small portion of it. Only later would we realize the wonder it concealed. By a twist of fate, that day there wasn’t enough change in the cash register, and the daughters escorted Antonella inside, who, upon seeing the other rooms of the mill, fell in love with it at first sight.

She came home and spoke enthusiastically about this beautiful place, but the story ended there for a while.

Meanwhile, my bike shop in Sant’Ambrogio over the years became a reference point for enthusiasts and professionals, synonymous with quality and passion for this world dear to me. So much so that the humble space became too small to accommodate our now fond and united community, but you know, destiny does what it wants a bit.

Antonella, on her way to work, passed by the Mill every day. Nothing had changed in those twenty years when one day, she noticed a sign hanging: “FOR SALE.”

It almost seems like the mill, where the shop is now based, somehow waited for us. Since January 2023, we have started the restoration of this historic site, an important place for the town of Pastrengo. We have given value back to pieces of a mechanism that ground flour for its inhabitants for years and now has new life. In this captivating space, history, modernity, tradition, and innovation come together – this is our MULINVéLO.
