Rich in history, fortifications, and nature trails, the small town of Pastrengo – with 3,000 inhabitants – is located in an optimal and strategic area for tourists visiting.
On the eastern shore of Lake Garda, located inside compared to the shore, Pastrengo is just a few kilometers from the Valpolicella area, less than 30 minutes by car from the historic center of Verona, and close to family-friendly attractions like Parco NaturaViva (Bussolengo), Gardaland amusement park, and Caneva World water park.
For tourists staying on Lake Garda, Pastrengo offers the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Veronese province, where the hills – mostly of morainic origin – display a varied landscape, ideal for walks and bike rides through paths immersed in vineyards and historical-cultural routes.
Historical events of the past – first linked to the Napoleonic period, then to the Austrian one, and finally to the Italian Wars of Independence – have given the town of Pastrengo historical sites of great cultural interest. Among these, we remember the four Austrian forts: Forte Degenfeld in the Piovezzano fraction; Benedek, Nugent, and Leopold in Pastrengo, and the optical telegraph dating back to 1865, located on Colle San Martino.
In addition to the landscape, historical, and cultural heritage, there is also the enogastronomic knowledge that characterizes much of the Valpolicella and Lake Garda areas.
Typical cuisine is indeed a distinctive element of every place, and Pastrengo also offers its guests various occasions. Famous are the September Carnival, the end-of-August Pumpkin Festival, and the summer village festivals that offer tourists the genuine flavors of the area, with sustainable attention to local products.
